Special hardware demo session
Technical hardware demos:
The conference allows for technical demonstration of hardware at the hardware demo exhibition. These demos will be displayed in the demo exhibition area at the conference venue during all three conference days. All conference attendees are encouraged to demonstrate their novel hardware here.
When will the demo exhibition be?
During all afternoon coffee breaks from Monday to Wednesday the conference attendees are suggested to visit the exhibition area. The demo exhibition area will, however, be open to visitors continuously. The demo owners are therefore kindly requested to spend these afternoon coffee breaks with their demos.
There will also be a special time slot allocated on Wednesday, from 9:00-10:45, when the nominated hardware demos will be judged by an incognito jury. During the demo time slot the attendance of the all demo owners, also the ones not nominated for an award, is requested.
Best demo award procedure:
During the ‘hardware demo session’ time slot on Wednesday the nominated hardware demos will be judged by an incognito jury. The demo exhibition will at that moment also be open to all the other conference attendees. During this time slot the attendance of all demo owners, also the ones not nominated for an award, is requested.
How to arrange your hardware demo?
– If your paper has been accepted and if it was nominated for the ‘best demo paper’ award: you will have received a general e-mail about how to register your demo.
– If you did not apply your paper for the ‘best demo paper’ award, but would still like to bring and show a hardware demo: you will have received a general e-mail about how to register your demo.
– If you would like to show a hardware demo during a presentation or during a poster session: you will have received a general e-mail about how to register your demo. Registration of the demo is not required if the hardware is small, or portable, and does not require any external power.
– If you want to show a hardware demo during a workshop, please contact the respective workshop organizer.
If you did not receive the e-mail to register hardware demos, registration can be done here: https://goo.gl/forms/JWRbedU1MnEozgF63.
Demo set-up and storage:
The demos shown at the demo exhibition can be built up on Monday morning. The hardware can be left at that location, also overnight, during the whole conference. There will be lockable storage for (portable) parts of the hardware. The demo exhibition area will be open to visitors continuously for all three days. The demo hardware will have to be removed at the end of the conference on Wednesday. The venue and organizers are not responsible for damage to the hardware or loss of the hardware.
Power usage:
Note that in the Netherlands the mains have an AC voltage of 230 Volts, at 50 Hz. The used power sockets are of type F (grounded, also compatible with C and E, see link: www.power-plugs-sockets.com/netherlands-holland/). We will supply extension cords, but will not supply power plug adapters from non-European to type-F plugs.
